FIA Card Service complaint

I recently discovered that my ex opened 2 credit cards thru FIA fraudulently. When I found out I confronted him and he admitted to opening 1 (just recently found out about the 2nd one).

When I talked to someone in the fraud dept. I was told that since I spoke to him prior to contacting them that it was not fraud and I was responsible for the debt or I could sue him in civil court.

WTF is that!!!!! The basically treated me like I was the criminal not a victime of identity theft. I spoke to multiple people and was even hung up on at one point.

This company will rip you off and treat you like a piece of **** there is no customer service period.

I opened an M&T FIA Credit Card with one of the 0% Interest/Transfer Fee deals they had. What a joke...

It has been such a hassle dealing with them. I cannot wait to get rid of this card. They "rejected" my checking account information and charged me a $39.00 fee when they payment is only $25.00

I used to have an M&T Checking account as well, but just canceled because they were always trying to pull similar BS... charging fees for THEIR SCREW-UPS!!!!

Save yourself the trouble - learn from my mistake. Just don't deal with M&T Bank AT ALL!!!!
